GenSan to host 16th Yellow Fin Tuna MTB Challenge

DAVAO CITY – General Santos City will host the 16th Yellow Fin Tuna Mountain Bike Challenge in September at the Market 4 of the Fishport Complex in Tambler.

The annual race, which starts at 6 a.m. on September 3, is organized by the General Santos-Matutum Off-Road Bikers Association (GS-Morba) Inc. in celebration of the Tuna Festival.

The categories are Elite Open, Juniors (18 & below), Seniors (19 to 34), Veterans (35-44), Masters (45 & above), Ladies Open, Fun Race A (25 & below), Fun Race B (26 to 39) and Fun Race C (40 & above). Registration fee is P300 inclusive of a lunch pack and souvenir dry fit shirt.

A pre-race day is also slated on Sept. 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Top 7 Mart located along the national highway.

The Elite Open champion will earn P5,000 while the first and second runners-up will get P3,000 and P2,000 respectively. The top three finishers in the Juniors, Seniors, Veterans and Masters will receive P4,000, P2,500 and P1,500, while in the Ladies Open are P2,000, P1,500 and P1,000.
