MANILA — As expected, Chris Standhardinger and Kiefer Ravena were selected first and second, respectively, in the 2017 PBA Draft at the Robinson's Place here on Sunday.

San Miguel tapped the six-foot-eight forward formerly of Rasta Vechta with the first pick that it got from Kia in a trade approved just on Friday.

Ravena, on the other hand, was selected by NLEX in the next pick. Meanwhile, Blackwater pulled the first shocker of the draft by taking Toto Jose third overall.

Phoenix, on the other hand, began its Louie Alas era by taking Jason Perkins as its fourth overall pick and Sidney Onwubere as eighth overall pick.

Jeron Teng, who many tipped earlier at number three, was taken fifth overall by Alaska.

Robbie Herndon, who became well-known by ruling a one-on-one basketball tournament last year, was selected sixth overall by GlobalPort.

Rey Nambatac then got a reunion project with Coach Caloy Garcia at Rain or Shine as he was selected seventh overall.

Star then took Lervin Flores with the ninth pick before TNT selected Mac Tallo and Jon-Jon Gabriel back-to-back with their first round selections.

Ginebra ended the first round by taking Jett Manuel. (PNA)
