Cantores wins gold in Muaythai National Championships

MANILA -- World Youth Martial Arts bronze medalist Felex Dave Cantores led the gold medalists in the 2017 Muaythai National Championships held this month at the Philsports Multi-Purpose Arena in Pasig City.

Cantores of Baguio City won the boys' 16-17, 63.5kgs event in the advance category, according to results released by the Muaythai Association of the Philippines on Thursday.

Among the gold winners in the advance category were national team members Jojie Pajaron, Lance Valenzuela and Albert Matayom.

Pajaron was declared champion in the senior men's 48kgs event, Valenzuela ruled the senior men's 51kgs event while Matayom won the gold in the senior men's 60kgs event.

Baguio City's Ranielle Mabiasan (girls' 14-15, 48kgs), Dahlia Tarapen (girls' 14-15, 60kgs), Judith Chadyaas (girls' 16-17, 45kgs) Rosemarie Recto (girls' 16-17, 51kgs) and ligaya Kagaid (women's 45kgs) likewise delivered gold medals.

The other gold winners were Odalve Santiago (girls' 16-17, 57kgs), Adelle Rosales (boys' 14-15, 36kgs), Christopher Baluyos (boys' 14-15, 45kgs), Jericho Balais (boys' 14-15, 51kgs), Leo Gandy Serrano (boys' 16-17, 45kgs), Ken Claude Sarmiento (boys' 16-17, 51kgs), James Palmes (boys' 16-17, 54kgs) and Moises Luis Ilogon (boys' 16-17, 57kgs).

Also winning gold medals were Krishna Limbaga (women's 48kgs), Clyde Joy Baria (women's 57kgs), Sharmaine Florece (women's 71kgs), Adrian Jay Batoto (men's 54kgs), Raymond de Guzman (men's 57kgs), Richard Lachica (men's 67kgs), Jimboy Nanlita (men's 71kgs) and Aaron Jethro Villar (men's 75kgs).

In the novice category, the winners in the juniors division were Jahaziel Care Barber (girls' 12-13, 46kgs), Richien Yosores (girls' 14-15, 45kgs), Jerriane Mae Leo (girls' 14-15, 57kgs), Tootsie Dianne Fabian (girls' 16-17, 42kgs), Judith Chadyaas (girls' 16-17, 45kgs), Jerem Balmores (boys' 10-11, 30kgs), Zoren Ardales (boys' 14-15, 45kgs), Xander Alipio (boys' 14-15, 48kgs), Bryan Banaag (boys' 16-17, 48kgs), Nelson Bantiyan (boys' 16-17, 51kgs), Johnwin Fernandez (boys' 16-17, 57kgs) and Tom Oliver Fortunato (boys' 16-17, 75kgs).

The gold medalists in the seniors division were Christina Tirzo (women's 42kgs), Charm Escorpiso (women's 54kgs), Ericson Paniza (men's 48kgs), Jerold Talibar (men's 51kgs), Pons Henry Seneres (men's 54kgs), Vincent Maspil (men's 57kgs), MC Vega (men's 60kgs), Jay Verdadero (men's 63.5kgs), Efren Puerto (men's 67kgs), Elmore Malano (men's 71kgs), Mattieu Lorenz Eden Huang (men's 81kgs), Mauro Lumba (men's 86kgs) and Chazz Arden Mayo (men's 91kgs).
