SAN JOSE De BUENAVISTA, Antique -- Twelve universities will be joining the Western Visayas State Colleges and Universities Athletics Association (SCUAA) Meet 2017 which will formally open on December 3.
This year’s host will be the University of Antique (UA) in Sibalom town.
The SCUAA Meet 2017 is expected to be tough with the return of some state colleges and universities based in Negros Island to Western Visayas and with the University of the Philippines in the Visayas (UPV).
The 12 participating institutions are Aklan State University, Capiz State University, Carlos Hilado Memorial State College, Central Philippine State University, Guimaras State College, Iloilo Science and Technology University, Iloilo State College of Fisheries, Northern Iloilo Polytechnic State College, Northern Negros State College of Science and Technology, UA, West Visayas State University, and UPV.
The events will be volleyball, badminton, chess, table tennis, basketball, archery, baseball, softball, athletics, boxing, sepak takraw, taekwondo, futsal and many others.
Competitions for the SCUAA Meet 2017 will start on December 4 until December 8 where there will be closing and awarding ceremony. (PNA)
