MANILA -- Eduard Folayang will make his return to the One Championship cage in its return to the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay on April 20.

"Eduard Folayang will be the co-main event of the night. We'll be announcing that fight very soon," CEO Chatri Sityodtong confirmed during a conference call on Thursday. "We have a few opponents that we've asked, so we're awaiting that."

Folayang will be making his first fight since losing the One lightweight belt to Martin Nguyen at the said venue last November as he begins his climb back to the title picture especially with Nguyen likely to relinquish the belt as he set his sights on Bibiano Fernandes' bantamweight belt.

Like Folayang's opponent, the entire card of the April 20 event, entitled "One: Heroes of Honor", will be announced at a later date, although the only confirmed part of the card is a kickboxing showdown betweeen Giorgio Petrosyan of Italy and Jo Nattawut of Thailand.

"It's no secret that the Philippines is one of our most popular markets. I think the Filipino fans love all forms of martial arts," Sityodtong explained his decision to have the match, which will be the opening game of the One Championship Kickboxing League.

He then vowed, "Seeing some authentic Muay Thai, kickboxing, and mixed martial arts, the Filipino fans, on April 20, are gonna be in for a real treat, being able to witness all forms of martial arts and having a real big night of entertainment at the highest level." (PNA)
