STA. ROSA, Laguna -- Although failing to land a medal, an improved second run highlighted Fil-Am skier Asa Miller's stint in the men's giant slalom alpine skiing competition of the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea on Sunday.

During his re-run, Miller finished the course in 1:22.43, way faster than his 1:27.52 time in the first run.

Miller, who was making his Olympic debut, finished 70th overall out of 108 competitors.

Europeans dominated the event with Marcel Hirscher (Austria) taking the gold, Henrik Kristoffersen (Norway) taking the silver, and Alexis Pinturault (France) taking the bronze.

Miller will return on Thursday for the men's slalom event. (PNA)
