Magnitude-5 quake jolts Indonesia's South Minahasa

MANADO, North Sulawesi -- An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale rocked South Minahasa district in North Sulawesi province on Tuesday evening, the local geophysics station said.

The epicenter of the quake which struck at 16:29 West Indonesia Standard Time (WIB) was located at 1.34 degrees northern latitude and 124.42 degrees eastern longitude, or 27 kilometers northwest of South Minahasa, at a depth of 202 kilometers, spokesman for the geophysics station Winangun Zulkifli said.

There was no immediate report of material damage following the quake, he said. (Antara)
