MANILA -- Rey Publico came up with huge contributions down the stretch as Wang's-Letran turned back Perpetual Help, 88-83, in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig on Thursday.
Publico scored six of the Couriers' last 10 points including the eventual game-winning jumper with 54 seconds left to help hold off the Altas' gallant stand behind a career-game from Edgar Charcos.
“A win is a win. Buti na lang noong second half, medyo naging agresibo kami kaya nakabalik," said Coach Jeff Napa.
Publico finished with 17 points, while Bong Quinto added 14 for Wang's-Letran, which scored back-to-back wins in back-to-back games.
Charcos' 29-point explosion coupled by a 26-point, 12-rebound outing from Prince Eze turned out to be not enough for Perpetual Help. (PNA)
