CEBU CITY -- The Cebu City Airsoft Competition will fire off at the Sugbo grounds of the South Road Properties (SRP) here on Saturday.

A total of 14 teams from Cebu, Iloilo, Dumaguete and San Carlos cities will be seeing action in the competition, dubbed “Operation: Fall Out”.

Prizes at stake in the two-day shoot fest are PHP30,000 for the grand champion, PHP20,000 for the runner-up, and PHP10,000 for the third placer.

City Councilor Jerry Guardo, who chairs the Youth and Sports Development Committee, said Friday the competition aims to promote sports tourism in Cebu, as well as to foster team-building and camaraderie among the participants.

The airsoft competition is organized by the Cebu City Government through the Cebu City Sports Commission, in partnership with the Southern Cebu Airsoft Recon (Scar) and the Guadalupe Airsoft Team.

Meanwhile, the city government will also stage the first ever Inter-Barangay Hip Hop Competition at the Robinson’s Galleria on Monday.

Participating groups from the city’s different barangays should have 10 to 15 members each and are expected to include a folk dance in their eight-minute presentation.

The top three hip-hop performers will also bring home PHP30,000, PHP20,000, and PHP10,000, respectively. (PNA)
