VIGAN, Ilocos Sur -- NCR (National Capital Region) widened its gap in the Palarong Pambansa medal tally as the penultimate day of the week-long (April 15-21) meet winds down.

As of 3:08 p.m. of Friday, the Stalwarts have collected a total of 64 gold, 51 silver, and 32 bronze medals.

Western Visayas slowed down in its gold hunt as it has only 37 golds in total so far.

However, the team stayed in second place as CALABARZON, which also has 37 gold medals with 34 silvers, is one less than Western Visayas' 35 silver medals.

CAR is fourth with 23 golds, 17 silvers, and 19 bronzes, while Central Visayas is fifth with 20 gold, 15 silver, and 20 bronze medals.

If the trend continues, NCR is set to capture its 14th straight overall win in the Palaro. (PNA)
