BINAN, Laguna -- Global Cebu is back!

After two postponed matches, Global Cebu, which is currently in trying times, made a Philippine Football League (PFL) return on Wednesday night, and the club pulled off a shocker in its comeback, stunning archrival and erstwhile league leader Iloilo, 3-1, at the Biñan Football Stadium in Laguna.

A second half barrage was all Cebu needed to finally get its first full win of the season while helping send Iloilo, which saw its four-game winning streak snapped, back to second spot following Negros' 3-0 win against Davao later Wednesday.

Iloilo entered the halftime break with only 10 men to be deployed for the second half as Robert Mendy was sent off at the second minute of the first half stoppage time for his harsh actions on Lee Jeong-Min.

But Masa Omura put Iloilo up in the next minute of stoppage time through a header to put Iloilo ahead, 1-0.

At the hour mark, Jordan Jarvis put Cebu on the board with a header.

Iloilo then lost one more key guy in the 67th minute as Alfred Osei also saw red after a hard foul while jocking for position on a free kick.

Cebu later took the lead five minutes as Darryl Roberts scored a header off a short cross.

Jinggoy Valmayor then sealed the win after breaking free from Iloilo defense and beating former UP teammate Ace Villanueva on a one-on-one.

Negros 3 Davao 0

At the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City, Negros reclaimed the lead in the league table after blanking Davao.

OJ Porteria put the home side ahead with a penalty just before halftime.

Bienve Marañon doubled the lead with a short-range attack off a cross at the hour mark.

Marañon then completed a brace with a 68th minute goal that turned out to be the dagger. (PNA)
