MANILA -- Davao Aguilas is in a good position to challenge Ceres Negros for the Philippine Football League (PFL) title. But on Tuesday, the lone PFL club from Mindanao went full throttle.

Team owner Jefferson Cheng announced on Tuesday that Marlon Maro is no longer the coach of Davao.

Coming in for the Phil and James Younghusband-led club as new head coach is long-time deputy Melchor Anzures.

Anzures has been with the club right from its very beginning last year, being the associate of both Maro and first chief gaffer Gary Phillips.

Cheng also announced that the club will bring in Leigh Manson as Anzures' assistant.
Manson is not new to the Philippine football scene as he led Global Cebu to the 2014 UFL title while also being part of the Azkals' 2013 SEA Games team.

Manson, president of the Nike Total Football Camp in Japan, is likely to take over Davao's youth program. (PNA)
