FIBA 3x3 World Cup men's semis set

BOCAUE, Bulacan -- An all-European semifinals ensued in the men's division of the FIBA 3x3 World Cup after the quarterfinals ended at the Philippine Arena on Tuesday.

Serbia and Poland locked the first pair of semifinal seats after getting to the magic number of 21 in their respective quarterfinal battles.

The top-seeded Serbians romped Mongolia, 21-8, while the seventh-seeded Polish crew stunned fourth-seeded Latvia, 21-15.

On the other hand, Slovenia and the Netherlands sealed the other semifinal pairing with contrasting wins.

Slovenia downed Ukraine, 21-15, to lock the third semifinal seat.

However, the Netherlands banked on a late surge from Dimeo Van Der Horst to hold off Canada, 18-16.

Van Der Horst scored the go-ahead layup with 30 seconds left while his fellow Dutchmen held off the Canadians down the stretch. (PNA)
