MANILA -- The Philippine Azkals missed out on securing a road win in Scott Cooper's coaching debut as Bahrain forced a late 1-1 draw in the latter's turf in Riffa early Friday (Philippine Time).

The Azkals thought they got the win as they held on to a 1-0 lead courtesy of Phil Younghusband's 49th-minute penalty for the remainder of the second half.

However, Bahrain found a huge hole in the Azkals' defense and struck the equalizer right before the final whistle to force the deadlock.

The Azkals can bounce back on Monday (Philippine Time) as they take on former Bahraini Premier League champion Al Hidd in a club-versus-country friendly. (PNA)
