MANILA -- Hiyas Pilipinas took home the women's division championship in the Under Armour 3x3 Southeast Asia Tournament after beating Singapore in the finals at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, in the lead-up to the Stephen Curry Asia Tour on Friday.
Hiyas, consisting of Angel Surada, Princess Fabruada, Caila Galamiton, and Karl Ann Pingol, took advantage of Singapore's errors to post a 14-6 wire-to-wire win.
On the other hand, a more improved Lavin Raj made a Philippine return to steer Singapore to a 16-9 win against Thailand in the men's finals.
Raj, who played for the Singaporeans in the SEABA Men's Championship last year in Quezon City, dropped a game-high 11 points as he quickly found his range and led Singapore to the victory, a bounce back from its preliminary defeat to Thailand earlier Friday.
Teams from Indonesia and Malaysia also participated in the tournament. (PNA)
