MANILA -- Quezon City Capitals won against Mandaluyong, 86-76, in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Datu Cup at the Pasig Sports Center on Tuesday night.

In an ordered rematch, the Capitals stifled the El Tigre in the odd-numbered quarters to pull off the blowout. The El Tigre's home win on Nov. 8 was nullified due to the ineligibility of Ronjay Buenafe.

Hesed Gabo and John Tayongtong each scored 16 points for QC, which moved up to seventh place in the Northern Division at 7-9.

Gian Abrigo put up 14 markers, nine rebounds, four assists, two steals, and two blocks for Mandaluyong, which fell to a three-way tie for eighth place in the North at 7-11. (PNA)
