MANILA -- Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) said in a travel advisory issued on Monday that passengers should anticipate heavy traffic en route to the airport this Holy Week.

"Allocate more time in going to the airport to ensure that you will make it in time for your flight," noted the carrier.

As of 1 p.m. Monday, traffic monitoring from the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) indicated light to moderate traffic at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1's arrival and checkpoint areas.

Traffic in Terminal 1's departure area, as well as in the other three NAIA Terminals, are still light, MIAA added.

PAL advises passengers to be at the NAIA at least 2.5 hours before a domestic flight, and at least 3.5 hours before an international flight.

Passengers are advised to check PAL's flight status via its website or by calling 855-8888 then press 2. Information in the flight status tab is available two days before flight departure.

Passengers may also opt to check in via the PAL website or through PAL app, the flag-carrier's management added.

Meanwhile, PAL and MIAA both reminded passengers to check the validity of their passports. Passports must be valid at least six months from date of travel. (PNA)
