MANILA -- Local carrier Cebu Pacific's (CEB) GetGo application server was hacked, and has been temporarily disabled, the management confirmed on Thursday.

GetGo is CEB's rewards program, wherein purchases and flights let customers earn points that can be used for flights.

"The hack was detected early this morning," spokesperson Charo Lagamon told the Philippine News Agency (PNA) on Thursday.

Log-in using GetGo credentials to the carrier's website and mobile app was temporarily disabled.

Both the website and mobile app remain secure, according to CEB, and Lagamon clarified that it is only the GetGo that could not be used.

Meanwhile, CEB said credit card information were not stored on the hacked server.

The carrier added that it has already contacted the National Privacy Commission for an investigation. (PNA)
