CEBU CITY -- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Cebu provincial office’s Cebu Negosyo Centers will hold a business name (BN) teller holiday on Wednesday, as it encourages the use of its end-to-end registration facility.

In a statement, DTI-7 said the BN teller holiday is aimed to promote the zero-contact policy under the Republic Act 11032, or the Ease of Doing Business Act of 2018.

Marivic Aguilar, chief of Small and Medium Entrepreneur Development Division of DTI-Cebu provincial office, said that during the BN teller holiday, there will be no business name registration tellers that will process any BN application over the counter.

Likewise, DTI cashiers will not receive and process payments.

Instead, DTI BN applicants are advised to register online through their respective mobile phones, laptops or personal computers at home or in an internet café by accessing Business Name Registration System (BNRS) Next Gen website at https://www.bnrs.dti.gov.ph/ and pay their transactions through GCash.

“The public can file online their BN application (new or late renewal), pay via GCash, and download and print their own certificate of business name registration,” the statement read.

A business name guide, demo video, and answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs) are available on the website to further guide the public who wish to have online transaction with DTI.

To assist the transacting public, the DTI-Cebu is inviting bookkeepers, business registration service providers, and other clients to a free seminar on how to register business name online with the DTI.

This half-day seminar will be held on Wednesday with sessions from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the DTI-Cebu Provincial Office along corner Osmeña Blvd. and Lapu-Lapu St. here.

The BNRS help desk is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, except holidays, and may be reached through DTI-Head Office BNR Support at (02) 890 1302 or 251 1223 or mobile 0917 595 3930 or email at BnrsHelpdesk@dti.gov.ph or DTI-Cebu BNR Section at (032) 253 2631 or 2557082 local 305/404 or email at r07.cebu@dti.gov.ph (subject BNRS).
