SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique -- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Antique is encouraging businessmen to avail of its online business registration.

DTI Antique Business Processor Bianka Lou Metchaler, in an interview Friday, said the online business registration already went fully operational in the first week of July.

“Businessmen just need to pay for their business registration fee through the Globe Telecommunications G-Cash,” she said, adding the rate will depend on their scope of business.

A business that operates in a barangay level will only have to pay PHP230; PHP530 for the municipal; PHP1,030 for regional; and PHP2,030 for the national in scope.

She said that after paying through the G-Cash, the businessman may opt to download the business certification by logging in at the DTI website bnrs.dti.gov.ph or through the cellular phone.

“So far since July there are already three businessmen who have applied for their business name through online,” she said.

These applicants, however, still paid the fees with the DTI Antique provincial office in San Jose de Buenavista.

“The online registration has been designed considering that the businessmen are busy people and could hardly have time to come to the DTI provincial office or at the Negosyo Center in their municipalities,” she said.

Meanwhile, Metchaler said there are 2,085 business name applications in the province that had been processed by the DTI provincial office through the Negosyo Centers.

“Of the 2,085 applications, there are 1,938 new applications and 147 are renewal,” she said.

She said the data covers their record from January to June 2019, with most of the applications for the sari-sari stores, or the neighborhood variety store. (PNA)
