MANILA -- A world cybersecurity leader promises a new generation of data protection in the cloud through its new cloud security suite, Prisma.

Palo Alto’s newest cloud security suite, launched on Tuesday at Makati Shangri-La Hotel, was designed to be a comprehensive tool in leading its customers to a more secure digital life as more and more businesses in the Philippines migrate to the cloud to stay competitive and avoid disruption. However, online hackers also watch out for weak spots of companies, especially in their most vulnerable -- neophyte phase.

“Moving into the cloud is an opportunity to be more secure. In Prisma, we offer the right visibility of what we will be running into, suggestions, best-practices as the existing security architecture evolves,” Palo Alto Networks Senior Director of Systems Engineering in Asia Pacific Orcun Tezel said.

And as these companies move the cloud, security along with other risks are often neglected due to the complexity of the platform among other reasons.

According to Palo Alto Networks Manager to the Philippines Oscar Visaya, there are three areas that were simplified for Prisma users.

It includes (1) Visibility and control, where customers are guided through each storage, encrypted transactions, and different consoles; (2) Integration, a more organized approach in delivering security services; and (3) Analytics, commonly used by hackers to understand a potential victim, Prisma also banks on this to fight automated and powerful adversaries.

“It is the next-generation firewall, making it simple for customers to secure their enterprise in the cloud,” Visaya added.

The customers are provided with complete visibility as well as recommended configurations across their entire cloud environment to ensure a strong security posture from the start and consistently prevent attacks.

“The key point is automation, Prisma identifies potential security risks and mitigates them instantaneously. With these tools, you can give them confidence and comfort,” Tezel added.

With approximately 9,000 enterprise customers, Prisma has quickly become the largest cloud security business in the world with over 16,000 customers in 20 offices and close to 700 net new customers in the region, its Asia-Pacific Japan grew to 29 percent in the third quarter of 2019 alone. (PNA)
