Laurel fights Jardeliza for vacant LuzProba featherweight title

DAVAO CITY -- Southpaw Alie "Demolition Man" Laurel of General Santos City will fight Lloyd Jardeliza of Marikina City for the vacant Luzon Professional Boxing Association (LuzProBA) featherweight title on August 3 in Mandaluyong City.

The 27-year-old Laurel (15W-4L-1D, 10KO), who is now a resident of Sampaloc, Manila, TKO'd Visut Tamkhuntod of Thailand in the 3rd round last January 26 in his comeback fight.

In 2016, his fight for the vacant World Boxing Council International super bantamweight against Joe Noynay of Cebu ended up in a split draw.

Laurel did not fight for two years in 2017 and 2018.

Jardeliza (8W-9L-4D, 6KO), on the other hand, lost to Juanito Paradez of Iloilo by a TKO in the 1st round last December 28 in Muntinlupa. He won against Jimmy Aducal of Samar by a majority decision in 2017. But the 24-year-old Jardeliza lost to Jelbirt Gomera of Sultan Kudarat by unanimous decision last November 26, 2018 in a battle for the vacant LuzProba featherweight title.
