Ibgos to challenge Kiram for WBA Asia super welterweight title

DAVAO CITY -- Junjesie "Tornado" Ibgos of Zamboanga del Sur will challenge Tewa Kiram of Thailand for his World Boxing Association Asia super welterweight title at the Suamlum Night Bazaar in Ratchadaphisek, Bangkok on September 7.

The 25-year-old Ibgos (13W-4L-0D, 11KO) TKO'd Butuan's Roldan Malinao in the third round in Iligan City in 2018.

Ibgos then lost to China's Cheng Su for the vacant World Boxing Organization Oriental super welterweight title in ShangRao Sports Center, Shangrao on May 10.

The 27-year-old Kiram (41W-1L-0D, 30KO) TKO'd Ramadhani Shauri in the 12th round on May 9.

He then lost by a knockout to Lucas Martin Matthysse of Argentina in the eighth round via a vacant WBA world welterweight title in 2018.

The promoter is Niwat Laosuwannawat of Galaxy Boxing Promotion. (PNA)
