DAVAO CITY -- Ivan "Bomba" Soriano of General Santos City will face Olimjon Nazarov of Uzbekistan for the vacant World Boxing Organization Oriental flyweight title on August 25 at the District 7 Arena in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
The 30-year-old Soriano (20W-2L-1D, 10KO) recently won over Bonjun Loperez of Davao City via unanimous decision (UD) on January 16 in Cagayan de Oro City.
He formerly won the vacant OPBF Silver light flyweight title by beating Jaysever Abcebe of Bukidnon in 2017 in Makati, also via a UD.
Soriano, however, lost to Wenfeng Ge of China for the vacant WBO international flyweight title on August 24, 2018.
Nazarov, on the other hand, won the WBC CIS and Slovac Boxing Bureau bantamweight title with a UD win over Khvicha Gigolashvili on May 5, 2018.
The 33-year-old Nazarov (18W-5L-0D, 11KO) recently defeated Mishiko Shubitidze via first round technical knockout last June 16, 2019.
