Gilas Men split tuneup series vs. Adelaide

MANILA -- Gilas Pilipinas Men and Adelaide 36ers settled for a 1-1 split of their friendly series over the weekend.

This after the 36ers edged Gilas Men, 85-75, in their second meeting at the Meralco Gym in Pasig City on Sunday night.

Daniel Johnson made 16 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and one steal for Adelaide, which pulled away late in the first quarter before holding off Gilas Men down the stretch.

Eric Griffin added 15 points, five rebounds, two assists, and two blocks as the Australian side actually played tuneup games for three straight days, bowing to Ateneo, 91-87, on Saturday.

Andray Blatche led Gilas Men, which won in their first meeting, 92-83, on Friday night, with 16 points, six rebounds, five assists, two blocks, and two steals.

In his first game back after a long FIBA suspension, Kiefer Ravena added 11 points, two rebounds, and one steal. (PNA)
