ZAMBOANGA CITY -- The Commission on Elections (Comelec) said a total of 13,538 individuals have registered in this city since the registration of voters resumed on August 1.
Lawyer Jan Christian Babiera, second district election officer, said Friday that 6,721 of the 13,538 voters registered in the first district and the remaining 6,817 in the second district.
“We are satisfied with the outcome of the registration but it is expected that more people will register on the succeeding days,” Babiera said.
He said the registration of voters ends on September 30.
The resumption of voter registration is intended for the 2020 barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (Youth Council) elections. (PNA)
