DAVAO CITY -- Mark Anthony "El Heneral" Geraldo of Bukidnon will defend his Philippine super bantamweight title against Lorence Rosas of Palawan on Sept. 20 at the City Hall grounds of Mandaluyong City.

The 28-year-old Geraldo (37W-9L-3D, 18KO) knocked out Virgel Vitor of Cebu in the 6th round on Feb. 11 in Tagbilaran, Bohol.

He won the vacant World Boxing Organization Oriental bantamweight title by beating Kenny Demeciilo of Cebu in Hong Kong in 2017.

But he lost the crown to undefeated Nordine Oubaali of France by a 7th round knockout on Dec. 16, 2017 in France.

Geraldo then came up with two victories in 2018 from Jetly Purisima (2nd round KO) and Nicardo Calamba (3rd round TKO).

Rosas, on the other hand, has nine wins with three knockouts against four losses and two draws. The 25-year-old Rosas knocked out Bulacan's Danilo Gabisay in the 1st round on March 12, 2018 in Palawan.

But Rosas lost in three following bouts abroad. He first dropped a unanimous decision to Omrri Bolivar of Venezuela on August 19 in Japan.

He then retired to Japan's Ryo Takenaka in the 5th round in Thailand last Dec. 8.

Rosas lost via a unanimous decision to Shuma Nakazato of Okinawa last March 21, 2019 in Japan.

The event is promoted by Yolanda "Ate Yolly" Alfante of Shock Punch Promotions with matchmaker Jimmy Vallares. (PNA)
