MANILA -- Pasig Chooks overcame the Day 1 odds and clinched a spot in the quarterfinals of the Chooks-To-Go FIBA 3x3 Manila Challenger by beating Kranj, 19-15, at the SM Fairview Events Center in Quezon City on Saturday night.

Pasig Chooks, which needed to sweep the qualifying draw to make the pool stages, found itself in a showdown with Kranj for the last playoff seat.

But Pasig got off to a good start, opening an 11-5 lead.

Kranj inched closer and was within two, 15-17, with only 35 seconds left.

But Joshua Munzon and Dylan Ababou scored clutch baskets to seal the deal for Pasig.

"It feels good, coming from the Qualifying Draw. Getting three out of four, it was a long day," said Munzon. "We showed a lot of heart."

Pasig will face Lyon in the knockout quarterfinals at 1:10 p.m. on Sunday back at the said venue. (PNA)
