DAVAO CITY -- Light flyweight Jonathan "Hard Worker" Refugio of Bukidnon will fight Taku Kuwahara of Japan on Sept. 17 at the Korakuen Hall in Japan.

The 26-year-old Refugio (21W-6L-5D, 7KO) recently retired Royder Lloyd Borbon of Cotabato in the first round last March 3 in Cagayan de Oro.

Refugio won five bouts already since losing his title fight for the Orient and Pacific Boxing Federation minimum weight title to Hiroto Kyoguchi in Japan by unanimous decision last 2017.

Kuwahara, on the other hand, is undefeated with five straight wins and four knockouts and no loss. The 24-year old orthodox fighter TKO'd Kyomu Hamagami in the 4th round last July 1 in Korakuen Hall.

He also TKO'd Aprilianto Rumahpasal of Indonesia in the 3rd round last April 8 in Japan.

The bout is promoted by Hideyuki Ohashi of Ohashi Promotions. (PNA)
