Saludar to fight for WBA Asia Pacific super flyweight title

DAVAO CITY--Orthodox Froilan "The Sniper" Saludar of Polomolok, South Cotabato will fight Tsubasa Murachi of Japan for the World Boxing Organization Asia Pacific super flyweight title on Sept. 21 at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.

The 30-year old Saludar (30W-3L-1D, 21KO) TKO'd Jonathan Francisco of Zamboanga City in the 2nd round last Feb. 10 in Zamboanga Sibugay.

Saludar also TKO'd former OPBF minimumweight champion Donny Mabao in the 8th round last Dec. 1 in Iligan City.

Saludar, however, lost to Japan's Sho Kimura via a 6th round knockout during the World Boxing Organization World flyweight title fight held last July 27, 2018 in China.

Murachi, on the other hand, defeated Raymond Tabugon of General Santos City by a unanimous decision last May 19 in Fuji.

He earlier TKO'd China's Sheng Peng in the 5th round last Nov. 28 at the Korakuen Hall.

Meanwhile, Yusaku Kuga (18W-3L-1D, 12KO) of Japan will defend his Japanese super bantamweight title against Yosuke Fujihara (18W-6L-0D, 5KO) in the undercard. (PNA)
