MANILA -- Catching up with the standards of the international community, Cebu-based real estate provider JEG Development Corporation (JDC) commits to greener buildings to raise the quality of premium spaces in Cebu City.
The initiative comes with the new batch of executives from the Garcia family enterprise: Chief Operating Officer Marko Sarmiento, Brand Manager Ayla Gomez, and Estate and Business Development Manager Stefan Garcia.
The third-generation of leaders wants to pursue a more sustainable path as part of their contribution to their family’s legacy and to the growth of Cebu.
“We are a young and dynamic player in Cebu’s real estate industry, we’re making our contribution by having a long-term view in developing liveable and sustainable communities,” Sarmiento said Wednesday.
The group’s flagship project in green buildings is JEG Tower @ One Acacia, a Grade A office and retail building recognized by Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) with a pre-certified Silver rating.
It will be turned over by the first quarter of 2020.
Located next to BPI Corporate Center in Ayala Cebu, the 22-story JEG Tower @ One Acacia will utilize less water, energy, and emit fewer greenhouse gases. It will have an “enhanced interior space for maximum views and natural lighting” to reduce energy costs.
Apart from the tower, the company has earlier ventured into residential and commercial spaces.
Gomez said “our work at JDC reflects our pride as Cebuanos and at the same time, building with the Cebuano in mind.”
“Integrity guides everything we do, and we are mindful of our impact on the environment and to the future generations of Cebuanos,” she added.
Firmly rooted in the community, JDC believes in building a more liveable Cebu by designing their projects around the aspirations and future needs of the people.
Company officials envisioned their properties to usher in a new standard of living for the community.
Garcia noted that adapting environment-friendly practices and technologies in property development is a long-term strategy for JDC.
“We believe that starting with the JEG Tower @ One Acacia, we can reduce operating costs through its efficient resource management. It would also result in increased worker productivity and an overall positive impact on the health and well-being of our prospective occupants," Garcia added. (PNA)
