BIÑAN — Stallion Laguna showed some grit against Air Force in a physical Philippines Football League battle on Friday at the Biñan Football Stadium.

In a game rescheduled due to thunderstorms here on Wednesday, Jhan-Jhan Melliza returned from the flu to help Stallion Laguna finish off Air Force despite both clubs losing their starting goalkeepers.

John Delariate was the first to go as the Air Force keeper was flashed with a red card for a hard foul in the 20th minute.

Jowarren Bedia took advantage of Delariate's loss as he scored Stallion Laguna's first goal in the 28th minute against substitute keeper Zaldy Abraham.

Melliza then came to work, completing a hat trick after goals in the 45th, 80th, and 83rd minutes.

Jake Hugo scored the consolation goal for Air Force in the 86th minute against Stallion Laguna's primary keeper Nelson Gasic, who played off the bench this time but had to check-in for Bedia after starting netminder Bitoy Rosalia was given a red card as well in the 63rd minute.

Stallion Laguna now has 36 points after 21 matches while Air Force remained at 11 after 22. (PNA)
