MANILA -- Green Archers United silenced the Biñan Football Stadium on Wednesday night after dealing Stallion Laguna a 0-1 loss in its first Philippine Football League (PFL) home match under the floodlights.

Tonaldo Appiah scored the lone goal of the match in the 44th minute off an interception at the midfield.

GAU, which moved up to 32 points, is now within four points of Stallion Laguna (36) for third place of both squads's tough assignments on Saturday night.

GAU will host Ceres Negros in the nightcap of the doubleheader at the Aboitiz Pitch in Lipa, while Stallion Laguna will take on Kaya Iloilo, 5-1 winner over Mendiola earlier Wednesday also at the Aboitiz Pitch, in the first game.

Jordan Mintah scorched for four goals as Kaya Iloilo avenged its tough draw against Mendiola last week with a rout.

Mintah broke the ice with two goals in the 15th and the 19th minutes for Kaya Iloilo to go 2-0 up.

Ricki Sendra made things quite interesting for Mendiola as he nailed a 27th minute goal to cut Kaya Iloilo's lead back to one before halftime.

Mintah restored order in the 52nd minute as he completed a hat trick for the 3-1 count.

Masa Omura then scored one for Kaya Iloilo in the 66th minute before Mintah made it four for him with the dagger in the 77th minute off a penalty.

Kaya Iloilo is now with 50 points, just three behind Ceres Negros at the top of the table.

Mendiola remains at 17 points with the defeat. (PNA)
