Big Boss Cement-Porac wins Leg 7 of Chooks 3x3 MelMac Cup

MANILA -- Ryan Monteclaro scored the dagger as Big Boss Cement-Porac edged Pasig Chooks, 21-18, to win Leg 7 of the Chooks-To-Go Pilipinas 3x3 MelMac Cup at Gold's Gym Sheridan in Mandaluyong City on Monday.

Monteclaro made a hangtime layup that sealed the win for Porac in the men's division final with 3:32 to spare.

"Sadya pero swerte rin (It was a designed shot but lucky also)," said Monteclaro, who scored eight points including five straight to give Porac the lead for good.

Brother Nikki added seven for Porac, which won PHP100,000 for taking the leg.

Franky Johnson made 10 markers for Pasig, which settled for PHP30,000 as runner-up prize after winning Leg 6 the night before.

MSC Binan City-Azi&Tets Travel N Tours took third place and walked away PHP20,000 richer.

In the women's division, the Maroon Thunders defeated Team X, 13-8.

Aileen Balmatero led the Thunders, who won PHP20,000, with five points.

She also walked away as winner in the Chooks-to-Go Harissa Roast Two-Point Shootout, earning her PHP10,000. (PNA)
