MANILA -- Wilkin's Balanga took home the championship in the sixth and final leg of the second season of the Chooks-To-Go Pilipinas 3x3 MelMac Cup on Thursday at Gold's Gym in Mandaluyong City.

Balanga edged Big Boss Cement Porac, 21-19, in the final after finishing the game with three straight points to preserve a hot start.

Alvin Pasaol made 13 points, Aris Dionisio added four, and Karl Dehesa and Chris de Chavez each tallied two for Balanga, which won PHP100,000.

Ryan Monteclaro made 10 markers for Porac, which claimed PHP30,000 as the runner-up prize.

Basilan finished third in the 16-team field and came home with PHP20,000.

The Chooks-To-Go Pilipinas 3x3 MelMac Cup, which ran for two seasons and a total of 14 legs including eight in Season 1, served as the Philippines' last dash to secure a spot in the FIBA 3x3 Olympic Qualifying Tournament in India.

FIBA will announce the four teams per gender that will get outright Olympic berths, the 20 teams per gender that will qualify for the first OQT, and the six clubs per gender that will compete in another OQT on Friday during the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Finals in Utsonomiya, Japan. (PNA)
