Formentera to fight Kawaura in Japan

DAVAO CITY -- Southpaw Joy Joy Formentera of Cebu will face undefeated Ryusei Kawaura of Japan on Nov. 20 at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.

The 25-year-old Formentera recently knocked down Prince Andrew Laurio of Masbate in the first round on July 6 in Liloan to win the vacant Visayas Professional Boxing Association super flyweight title.

Formentera now has 11 wins with seven knockouts against three loses. Kawaura, on the other hand, has six straight wins with four knockouts.

The 25-year-old southpaw last won by a unanimous decision against Renoel Pael of Leyte on May 14 at Korakuen Hall. (PNA)
