DUMAGUETE CITY -- The Bureau of Customs (BOC) District Office in Cebu has adjusted the target revenue collection for its sub-port office in Dumaguete toward the end of the year.

Dumaguete Customs Collector Fe Lluelyn G. Toring on Tuesday said her office’s target collection is now pegged at PHP4.371 billion versus the PHP4.011 billion target as of early this month.

The BOC District Office in Cebu recently sent a memo adjusting the 2019 target collection for December, from PHP572.061 million to PHP733.318 million, she said.

Toring, however, is confident that they can still exceed the adjusted target collection for the year, as her office is awaiting shipment of fuel from Filoil Energy Co. Inc. (Filoil) soon, with estimated duties and taxes to be collected at PHP425 million.

Last week, she said as of Dec. 6, the actual collection of her office from Jan. 1 was pegged at more than PHP4.583 billion.

This is not the first time that the BOC sub-port of Dumaguete’s target collection was adjusted.

At the start of the year, it was placed at PHP3.8 billion, and sometime in the middle of the year, it was adjusted to PHP4.011 billion, and finally, now at PHP4.371 billion.

With the upcoming Filoil shipment, the sub-port office of Dumaguete would still be able to exceed its target collection by around PHP629 million, Toring said. (PNA)
