MANILA – A friendly game between the Philippine Army (PA) Football Team and the Azkals Development Team set on Thursday will kick off the celebration activities of the PA's 123rd founding anniversary.

In a message to reporters late Tuesday, Army spokesperson Col. Ramon Zagala said the match between the two teams will be held at the Army Support Command Football Field in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

The Philippine Revolutionary Army, where the PA traced its origin, was established on March 22, 1897, at Tejeros, San Francisco De Malabon in Cavite.

On the same day, the Philippine Revolutionary Government was also established.

"The friendly match with the theme 'One Game for the Solidarity, One Goal for the Country' is one of the highlights of the Army’s anniversary celebration that aims to promote national pride among Filipinos, both for the military and the sports sector," Zagala added. (PNA)
