GSIS suspends work after Senate guest tests positive for Covid-19

MANILA – The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) suspended work at its main office in Pasay City on Thursday after the Senate, located beside its office, said one of the resource speakers in a recent hearing tested positive for the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

In an advisory, GSIS said the temporary stoppage of operations during the day is “as an urgent precautionary measure.”

It, however, assured its members, pensioners and transacting clients to use the agency’s various digital and online platforms for records verification, inquiries, and other GSIS transactions.

These platforms include the electronic GSIS Member Online (eGSISMO) - https://egsismo.gsis.gov.ph/eGSISMO/, the electronic mail, gsiscares@gsis.gov.ph; the GSIS website - https://www.gsis.gov.ph; and Facebook account, @gsis.ph or https://www.facebook.com/gsis.ph/.

Members can also call the pension fund’s contact center -- 8847-4747 (for calls within Metro Manila) /1-800-8-847-4747 (for Globe subscribers) /1-800-10-847-4747 (for Smart subscribers).

They can also use the GSIS Wireless Automated Processing System (GWAPS) kiosks that are located in all GSIS branches and extension offices, provincial capitols, city halls, selected municipal offices, large government agencies such as the Department of Education (DepEd), and malls like Robinsons Malls and select SM City branches namely in North Edsa, Manila, Pampanga, Cebu, SM Aura in Taguig, SM Southmall in Las Piñas, and Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

“GSIS earnestly appeals for your understanding and cooperation. The health and safety of the stakeholders, as well as the officials and employees, will always remain as the pension fund's top priority,” the advisory said. (PNA)
