MANILA – The Bureau of the Treasury (BTr) on Tuesday fully awarded the 10-year re-issued Treasury bond due to strong demand.

The rate of the debt paper, which has a remaining life of 5.2 years, averaged at 3.182 percent, which National Treasurer Rosalia de Leon said is lower than the previous auction.

“Rate (is) lower given (the) strong demand for this security,” she said in a Viber message after the auction.

The previous auction for a 10-year T-bond was last February, and it fetched an average interest rate of 4.409 percent.

In a statement, the BTr said the debt paper fetched a lower rate than its original coupon rate of 3.625 percent.

It offered debt security for PHP30 billion and received tenders amounting to PHP80.581 billion. (PNA)
