MANILA – Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) on Monday announced increasing flight frequencies between Manila and Davao beginning October 3.

Eight weekly flights will be offered from Davao to Manila, every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday (twice), and Sunday.

Manila to Davao flights, on the other hand, will be thrice weekly, every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday.

"At present, we are only operating two roundtrip flights between Manila and Davao. The increase in flight frequencies effective Oct. 3 is due to the increased demand for flights between the two cities," PAL spokesperson Cielo Villaluna told the Philippine News Agency.

She added that prior to the pandemic, PAL was operating three to four flights daily on these routes.

Meanwhile, the carrier reminds Davao bound passengers to secure the following: negative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test result at least 72 hours before the flight, medical certificate, valid ID, and travel authority.

Those without an RT-PCR test result may undergo the swab test at the Davao International Airport upon arrival, it added.

Likewise, passengers bound for Manila are required to have a medical certificate and a travel authority before they could check-in for their flight. (PNA
