CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – Entrepreneurs from the seven provinces in Region 3 will have the opportunity to showcase their products amid the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) crisis in the virtual Likha ng Central Luzon trade fair on Oct.13-17.
Judith Angeles, regional director of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-3, said on Friday the event will push through in an easily accessible online platform that will allow buyers to see the best quality products of the region.
“We organized the virtual trade exposition to promote and sell the quality products of Central Luzon micro small and medium enterprises (MSMEs),” Angeles said in a statement.
More than 100 exhibitors in Central Luzon have registered for the major regional promotion activity held annually since 1998.
Among the products to be showcased are processed foods, home furnishings, ceramics, holiday decors, jewelry and fashion accessories, footwear, bags and specialized garments like "barong" and gowns.
Angeles urged consumers to patronize local products to help the MSMEs that were badly affected by the pandemic.
“Every peso that we use to buy products could help grow the local businesses, especially in this time of Covid-19,” she said.
City of San Fernando Mayor Edwin Santiago said the trade fair serves as an avenue not only for entrepreneurs to earn, but also to expose their quality products to a larger scale of consumers.
Now on its 22nd year, the Likha ng Central Luzon trade fair has benefited thousands of traders.
The Central Luzon MSMEs have captured wider markets and promoted their products in major malls and stores due to their exposure in the trade fair.
Many of the participating entrepreneurs have been able to sell to some of the big retail chains in the country while others have catered to international buyers.
The virtual trade expo is organized by DTI-3, in collaboration with the PLDT Kaasenso Project and with the support of the Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc.-3, the Regional Development Council-3, Central Luzon Growth Corridor Foundation, Inc. and the Bureau of Small and Medium Enterprises Development.
