Meralco clobbers Alaska for 1st win

MANILA – Meralco scored its first win in the Philippine Basketball Association season after downing Alaska, 93-81, on Wednesday night at the Angeles University Foundation Sports and Cultural Center.

The Bolts pulled away for good after opening the final quarter on a 12-0 run as they repulsed a third quarter rally from the Aces.

Allein Maliksi put up 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting, four rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one block off the bench for Meralco.

Baser Amer added 15 points, three rebounds, and three assists.

Jeron Teng torched for 25 points on 9-of-11 shooting, seven rebounds, two assists, and one steal, but it was not enough as Alaska fell to 0-2.
