TNT romps SMB to take top spot

MANILA – TNT moved to solo first place in the Philippine Basketball Association standings after ripping San Miguel, 107-88, at the Angeles University Foundation Sports and Cultural Center on Friday night.

The Tropang Giga began the game on a 13-2 run and never looked back from there, although they had to repulse an early third-quarter rally from the Beermen.

Poy Erram posted his best game so far with TNT, scoring a career-high of 27 points on 10-of-16 shooting, including a perfect 9-for-9 from two-point range, 15 rebounds, and one block as he led his team to the top of the team standings with its third straight win in as many games in the season.

Ray-Ray Parks, who exploded for 40 points the last time out, added 22 points, six rebounds, and three steals.

Alex Cabagnot came up with 15 markers, two rebounds, two dimes, and one steal off the bench for SMB, which fell to 1-2.
