MANILA – Rey Nambatac proved vital again in the endgame as Rain Or Shine Elasto Painters upended NorthPort Batang Pier, 70-68, in their Sunday night Philippine Basketball Association affair at the Angeles University Sports and Cultural Center.

Nambatac hit two free throws with just 1.3 seconds left as the Elasto Painters escaped despite the Batang Pier climbing back from 11 points down to nearly force overtime.

Sean Manganti had a shot at even stealing the win for NorthPort, but Javee Mocon blocked his tough three-pointer at the final buzzer.

Rookie Adrian Wong was the high-point man for ROS, which moved up to 3-0, tying TNT at the top of the standings, with 15 markers alongside two rebounds, two assists, and one steal off the bench.

Sidney Onwubere added 11 points and five rebounds off the bench as well.

Sean Anthony, Chris Standhardinger, and Garvo Lanete each tallied 13 markers for NorthPort, which was held to just two points in the third quarter and slid to 0-3, tying NLEX at the cellar. (PNA)
