MANILA – Alaska came alive in a crucial juncture of the second half to pummel Phoenix, 105-97, in their Philippine Basketball Association game at the Angeles University Foundation Sports and Cultural Center on Thursday night.
Down by as much as 14 points, the Aces outscored the Fuel Masters, 33-9, within the last two minutes of the first eight minutes of the fourth quarter to steal the win.
Phoenix tried to rally back, cutting the lead down to just six, 103-97, with 33.1 seconds left, but the comeback bid ended there.
Vic Manuel posted 24 points on 11-of-14 shooting, seven rebounds, three assists, and one steal for Alaska, which moved up to 5-3 in the standings.
Mike Digregorio added 21 markers on a 6-for-10 clip from the field and one assist.
Matt Wright fired 27 markers on 5-of-11 shooting from three-point range, nine assists, five assists, and two steals for Phoenix, which fell to 4-3.
