LEGAZPI CITY – The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in Bicol alerted the public on Monday against a company that does not have the license to legally engage in investment solicitations.

Glorei Allelu Lindio, SEC-Legazpi Extension Office spokesperson, in an interview, bared the alleged illegal business activities of Alisurvey Advertisement Marketing Services.

Lindio said the company is a registered partnership put up by business partners Sherwin D. Abasolo and Allan Christopher T. Arguelles, with an office address in Daet, Camarines Norte.

Its declared business purpose is to engage in wholesale and retail of perfume products, lifestyle products, ticket booking, and retailing business, etc.

But Alisurvey has also ventured into unauthorized investment solicitations through its so-called “Buy, Wait and Earn Packages,” Lindio noted.

SEC-Bicol, in a statement said that under this company’s investment scheme, “an investor may invest PHP20,000, PHP60,000 or PHP150,000, depending on the type of package chosen, with corresponding specified guaranteed profit per month”.

She added that while Alisurvey is licensed to engage in business, it must only be within the declared partnership and approved business purpose.

“SEC emphasizes that the licensing and registration requirement for investment solicitations is different and distinct from the registration of an entity as a corporation or partnership for which certificate of incorporation or certificate of registration is issued by SEC,” Lindio said.

She clarified that in order to engage in other business activities other than the licensed one, the firm must secure a “secondary license”.

“Only when a SEC-registered and licensed corporation is able to get a secondary license that it could operate another business engagement,” Lindio said.

SEC has yet to file a formal complaint against Alisurvey. (PNA)
