MANILA – More than 180,000 healthcare workers have been included so far in the government’s master list for the Covid-19 vaccination rollout, a health official reported Wednesday.

“As of Feb. 16, coming from the Department of Information and Communications Technology, their vaccine information system, mayroon na pong 186,562 healthcare workers na naipasok dito sa ating sistema (there are already 186,562 healthcare workers included in our system),” Department of Health (DOH) Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said in a televised public briefing.

She added most of these healthcare workers are from the eligible hospitals included in the first batch of Covid-19 vaccines from Pfizer-BioNTech that will arrive in the country this month.

Earlier, the DOH said the eligible hospitals are comprised of 32 health facilities in Metro Manila, one in Cebu, and one in Davao.

There are 1.9 million healthcare workers nationwide who would be prioritized in the vaccination program.

“Sa senior citizens po, we have more than 1.4 million already master-listed, for indigents we have 3 million, and for the uniformed service, we have 164,000, ito pa lamang po ang mga paunang datos (these are the preliminary data),” Vergeire said. (PNA)
