MANILA -- The Utah Jazz continue to wax hot in the ongoing National Basketball Association (NBA) season after taking down the Los Angeles Clippers, 114-96, on Thursday (Philippine Time) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The Jazz took over in the second half, outscoring the Clippers, 68-45, to steal a huge road win.

Donovan Mitchell put up 24 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, four steals, and one block for the Jazz, who moved up to an NBA-best 24-5 record with their ninth straight win and 20th in the last 21 games.

Rudy Gobert added 23 points on 8-of-12 shooting, 20 rebounds, one assist, one block, and one steal.

Two days after tallying a career-high 40 points, Filipino-American Jordan Clarkson struggled a bit with a 7-of-23 shooting but still ended up with 18 points alongside four rebounds, three assists, and two steals off the bench.

Lou Williams made 16 markers, six boards, six dimes, and two steals for the Clippers, who played without star players Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.

Beal wins it for Washington

In Washington D.C., Bradley Beal delivered the winning moment for the Wizards as they edged the Denver Nuggets, 130-128.

Beal scored two free throws with 0.1 second left as Washington denied Denver of a chance to force overtime.

Jamal Murray tied the game at 128-all with his three-pointer with 2.1 seconds left in regulation.

But JaMychal Green fouled Beal while trying to stop his game-winner, leading to the deciding charities.

Beal finished with 25 points, 10 assists, and four rebounds for the Wizards, who have now won three straight games to jump to 13th place in the Eastern Conference standings at 9-17.

David Bertans led Washington with 35 points on 9-of-11 shooting from three-point range, three rebounds, one assist, one block, and one steal, while Russell Westbrook put up a triple-double of 12 points, 13 rebounds, and 12 assists.

Murray's 35-point blast coupled by nine rebounds, six assists, one steal, and one block went down the drain as Denver (15-13) eventually fell to eighth place in the Western Conference standings following Golden State's 120-112 win against Miami.

In other results, Orlando romped New York, 107-89, Atlanta shocked Boston, 122-114, Philadelphia downed Houston, 118-113, Indiana pipped Minnesota, 134-128, Chicago subdued Detroit, 105-102, Portland edged New Orleans, 126-124, and Memphis defeated Oklahoma City, 122-113. (PNA)
