MANILA – Lapu-Lapu notched its second straight win in the Visayas leg of the Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup after trouncing Dumaguete, 67-57, on Tuesday at the Alcantara Civic Center.

The Heroes, despite struggling offensively too, held the Warriors to only six points in the second quarter before improving in their attacks in the second half especially with a game-turning 12-0 run in the third period to seal the win.

Ferdinand Ludsoc led Lapu-Lapu with 14 points, three rebounds, one assist, and one steal off the bench, but it was in starter Reed Juntilla that Francis Auquico was more impressed.

The former Philippine Basketball Association veteran finished with 12 points, four rebounds, and three assists.

“Si Reed, inaasahan talaga namin yung scoring niya (We really expect Reed's scoring),” Auquico said. “I’m glad that he delivered when we needed him.”

Nikki Monteclaro paced Dumaguete, which fell to 0-2, with 20 points and four rebounds, while Jeric Nacpil added a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds with one assist and one steal. (PNA)
